We are looking at replacing our old 2 meter repeater and wanted to get ideas on what would be some good radios that have %100 duty at around 40 watts. We have a motorola service center here in town so that is a plus. Thanks! Bob__Do You

NHRC Repeater Controllers, LLC has allowed me to announce the addition
of a new controller to their present line. This controller is
revolutionary, mainly due to its size. I'm told that 3 of these
controllers will fit on approximately the surface
Kevin,
Thanks for the announcement. Can you give us a brief description of
some of the features and capabilities of this new controller, in the repeater
controller mode?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,
I don't have that information in front of me yet, but I will soon, and
I'll do a follow-up.

We have been using the TKR-750's for a couple of years
with good results. They are rated at 50 watts
intermittant, or 25 continuous. We run ours at about
30 watts with no problems, not quite the 40 you were
asking for, but close.

I have what appears to be a 440 repeater transmitter chassis and a
receiver chassis.
All I have found so far is the chassis numbers, but would
like to find out what the major system model is.
The numbers are: TLNB (transmitter)
TLN8889A (Receiver)

Well, the repeater-builder
I am buiding a VHF repeater witha Motorola Quantar and am finding a
strange IM/Desense issue. Whn I attach an antenna to the system I see
a small carrier at +4.5khz from the carrier frequency. I have verified
duplexer tuning, tried several anenna and feedline combos, and
everything else I can
If your club or group is a 501(c)3, you might be able to get the
MSS or old system owner to donate the gear as a tax write-off.
Better check with your tax guy for particulars.

I have an odd request, I was curious if there was any place I could
download the speech files used on a repeater controller? I am in the
process of building a repeater and will be using a linux box as the
controller and would like some kind of speech... (without using
festival)..
Thanks!

Andy,
When you say you see this carrier, how are you viewing it? That is, are
you watching a spectrum analyzer with a pickup antenna, while the repeater
antenna is connected to the duplexer? Is this mystery carrier present all
the time, even when the Quantar is not repeating?
All of my Quantar
The entire project looks great! Where on the site do they talk about

Gale,
I looked up both numbers on Motorola Online, and got no hits on either.
Perhaps some of the boards have ink-stamped numbers that will be
helpful...

Unfortunately the parts are not here, but at a remote location. Will
have to take a look for more numbers the next time I get to them.
Thanks for the help.
