Comcrap cable has an e-mail outage that started Saturday morning around 7-8am
EDT. I've been told you can still send messages out but you can't check for, or
receive messages using your favorite mail program. Their web-based SmartZone
e-mail program also is down, so you're screwed either way.
I wondered where everyone was. I've got Time Warner Roadrunner. It has it's
share of issues too.

Are you feeling nostalgic for a vintage service monitor? If so I may
have just the thing for you. A working Cushman CE5 with dev scope
and tunable VHF preselector. Also included are the front cover,
antenna, output pad, service manual on CD and original hardcopy manual
for the CRT plugin.
Wish I was out there, that won't last long!!

Hello,
I am new to Repeater Building and was wondering if someone Knowledgeable would
be able to answer Three Questions for me ?
1, With a Duplexer tuned to say 467.00 Low side and 477.00 high side will the
duplexer only function at those Frequencies, i.e if the system has another pair
of Tx /
At work (as I am now) we have access through a Comcast pipe - and the only
problems I'm experiencing is that the entire access has been up-and-down all
day so far.

cant answer to the info on your duplexer, you have not given any info on the
make model
you need to tune your duplexer to the pair you are useing ..
2 you should have a 1.1 match from the duplxer and the radio ( if the
duplexer is tuned right)
and a 1.1 match from the duplexer to the ant if
1 How close in frequency to the tuned pair? Normally no, it will only work for
the frequencies it is tuned to...
Especially with a notch only system like a mobile duplexer, which might only
have maybe 40 or 50 dB isolation to start with... You make up the difference by
having a 5 MHz
Oh yes, I didn't answer your last question Typically 1.3 to 1.5 dB loss in
a four cavity duplexer, possibly up to 2 db or slightly higher for a siz cavity
system.

Thanks Rick,
Duplexer is a RFS 6MC 450s and the Antenna is an RFI CD4 vertical dipole,
http://www.rfi.com.au/downloads/wireless/RFI-antenna-catalogue.pdf
With the antenna connected directly to the radio via a length of RG58 i am
reading a vswr of about 1.3 at 35 watts output from the Tx radio.
Thanks Dave,
I will check out the RG-142 Coax regarding running this between the Duplexer
and the Antenna, and between the Tx and Rx radios and the Duplexer.
My problems with the Antenna location have been caused by Numerous CB operators
previously upsetting all and Sundry with Rickity Masts

Does anyone on the group know where I can an extender card for a Motorola
R2200/R2400 Service Monitor? I need to do a complete alignment on my service
monitor and need the circuit board extender card so I can get to the
adjustments and test points on the circuit boards.
Thanks,

One major difference is that Comcrap is a business. Verizon, aka Ma Bell, is a
utility. Look how much better job is done by the Public Utility Control groups
on prices for telcos, and how cable tv rates just keep climbing and climbing as
the channel choices become less and less.
I wasn't home
Hello everyone,
I have a Vertex FTL-2011 99ch. and I want to program it, maybe some one in
the group have a functional schematic for that type of radio.
I've try to build a cable converter and use my Motorola RIB but no sucess.
Do you have a solution ?
Thank you.

Thanks Bob,
Will have to look at this straight away as running the cable is a real hassle
and i don't want to have to do it again in the short term future.
