Don't select that model from the list. Start fresh with the software on the
freq range that you want. Then when you write the radio it'll ask if you
want to change models. Say yes and it should go.

Even though I'm no longer in the Biz, I still keep 3 old laptops around just
for the dos programs ect. The last one I bought at a Ham club auction for
$5.00. Battery was shot and no power supply, but cobbled a supply together
for nothing with parts on hand.

has it operating on the 220 ham band now (it was on 217 nbfm).
Depending on configuration and power levels the price will vary, but they
are competitive for what they are...more expensive than Kenwood but cheaper
than Motorola.

Yep just find a Tait dealer that will work with you. If you can't find one
let me know and I'll link you up with a friend that is still in the Biz.

Many times the problem is not with the decoder but by the way it is fed.
Make sure you have a DC blocking cap in the circuit or you will slow
everything down when a received signal comes up as there will be a DC shift
on the line that will swamp the decoder inputs.
Gregg R. Lengling, W9DHI
Yes but if you look at the input when the signal starts they still may be a
charge voltage coming up, which swamps the cap when charging it and delays
the actual action.

Anyone that is eligible for low band frequencies can apply for a pair (thru
coordination) and operate a low-band repeater. It isn't just Public Safety
or Utilities any more.

was the problem.it was whoever was in-between and
apparently whomever you purchased the unit from apparently is one of these
companies that doesn't SERVICE WHAT THEY SELL.
If they can't service it, then they
shouldn't sell it..end of story.

the AGC circuit controlling the gain of the IF amp in most radios. However
how that is created is different in all rigs and the variation from S9
either lower or higher will probably not be calibrated.

I saw this product at IWCE in Las Vegas earlier this year. It's
very expensive and proprietary and they require you to buy their PC for about
4K.any good radio tech/computer nut can do much better.

Actually there is enough tuning to allow you to use their 450-470 units from
about 440 to 480so it will work for you. I've used the same model
(different Variant) both on a 442 system and on a T Band system at 473.
