The whole intent of the "sweep modulator" is to trigger the scope on
both sides of the deviation, so you can get them as close as possible
to the center of the band pass it requires you to feed a 20 HZ sine
wave into a box that would give you the same 20HZ out and a 40HZ train
of pulses to trig
This thing is out there it hasn't been long sence I saw it. I just
can't remember where. Keep looking.
