Byron, I finally got a chance to look over my notes. Our machine was
originally in the 152 mhz range
when it came out of commercial service. The amp is a model TLD5082A
which is for 150.8-162 mhz.
Model TLD5083A covers 162-174 mhz. What split is your machine? Have you
checked the power
before
Does the 40 Watt exciter make on frequency power?
Was it working properly before you changed tubes and moved frequency?
I used a Kenwood TKR720 to drive the PA on one of these for several
years with the TKR running about 25 Watts.

Steve and the group,
The Micor had a power supply problem (low voltage ps) when it arrived. I
fixed that problem and noticed it was low on output power, only putting out
about 260 watts (only HA!).. I then re-tuned it on the original commercial
frequency and it still made the same power. I

It would be interesting to have someone take some pictures and some
careful measurements of the main PA plate line in the TLD5082 amp

Bryon,
I have benn contemplating the conversion on one of the units I have, but
am still trying
to run down a manual on the beast. So if you know where I might find a
copy of the manual
I would get started, Hi..

Byron, I have successfully moved a 375 watt station down to the 147
region. Check that

but I think I converted the exciter into the lower band by just

Joe and the group,
I have a ham band exciter and a good 10 watts out of the driver PA, I just
can't get more than 160 watts out of the final. My dip in the plate current
is not so great and when I bring up the screen voltage the plate current
flattens out and no more power is made. I got a
I have a TLD5081 amp that is not currently in service. Unfortunately, it is
not for sale, but I could take some digital photos of the internals and get
them to you. Just let me know what areas you would be interested in. It
is currently at a remote site, so it may take a few days to get them to

I'd sure like to do the same. I've often seen the 250/375 Watt MICOR stations
available for $100 or less (even at hamfests like Dayton). I remember checking
on the price of the main PA plate line assembly for the 2-Meter range 1/4 KW
