AVG Free anti-virus software also has a built-in spyware removal tool. I also
use the ones George captioned below - and even I get bit every once in a while
by some new bug.
It's amazing that so many people have the time on their hands to be able to
propagate all this crap...

Sorry, not trying to propagate crap. I was just trying to be helpful and didn't
want him to make maters worse. Thanks for your recommendations.

George uses the same gear I swear by. Spybot SD is my top pick - along with
MalWareBytes.
Good suggestions all around. Good luck Dave!

Fantastic suggestions! I, myself use Hijack This! and keep it in my arsenal as
well. You are very right about the drives failing with no warning, and I have
lost a few back in the day. Have not lost any flash drives over 4 Gig yet, but

is loaded with PCB and is tuned for about 70 mhz. Same would be
true for a RCA. Color of the load is what tips me off. Most of the older loads
were not wide bandwidth.

Bill,
Looks like those cavities will bolt together end to end.
All four would make a nice single 6m cavity.
The 3 1/8 elbows look to be good quality and are always in demand for high
power FM radio work. Keep these and their inner bullets.
The 3dB couplers look to be machined from a single

I also use Hijack This! and Startup Control Panel... both excellent tools,
but many less-experienced computer users won't know what to do with the scan

therefore only recommend them to those who know what they are doing
I would be grateful for any info' about a Tait T296/01 PSU.
It is in a rack of Tait repeater gear that I am re-conditioning
for a local SAR group. I am guessing at 13.8V 10A in terms
of the transmitter's power needs, but the regulator looks to
be a bit light for 10 Amps.
OK, I may have to

Side-comment: As a pilot and IT person, I've been taking tests for both at
professional testing locations like ProMetric now for at least a decade.
With the removal of the Code, I've always wondered why the FCC hasn't gone the
way the FAA did, and dropped the need for the VE's altogether.
Be careful what you wish for...a Ham license has no value so the VE's can
only charge their actual expenses for administering the test...here in the
east it is around $15...ProMetric probably wouldn't let you walk in the door
for $15.
The FCC is no longer in the exam business so it doesn't
Gordon,
The paperwork I have states the 296/01 is 5 Amps continuous. I am trying to
reproduce the circuit, but it isn't coming out very clear at the moment. I'll
keep trying.
