Requisition Details:

15+ years of experience in Data architecting , Data Strategizing and Data
Governance
Primary responsibilities are:
1. Effectively design and build information architecture enhancements to
GB’s existing claims system in support new market segments and new services
(new segments and services will be discussed during candidate interviews)
2. Design and implementation of Company's “books of record” for clients,
insurance policies and other master data subject areas
3. Design and extend an operational data store to act as central
information platform for consumers and providers of heterogeneous data
(transactional, reference, analytical) including multi-sourcing (same type
of information across multiple source systems)
4. Implement service based architecture for new applications and external
partners to access company'sinformation from its central data hub
5. Optimize information access paths to meet various consumption patterns
(analytical vs operational, load vs read) within a massively parallel
processing (MPP) platform
6. Design common integration interface to consume, aka “run-in” claim
transactional information from third party claims management systems
7. Work with in-house and outsourced development teams to deliver an
enterprise data eco-system including data quality and master data management
8. Work with business representatives to establish a data governance
program including setting up a data governance organization and policies
and procedures
9. Establish standards and best practices for a variety of software
products used to deliver the eco-system.

Candidates should have experience in several of the following areas:
1. Strong experience designing and re-engineering information lifecycle
processes, e.g., creation, consumption/management, destruction,
specifically in cases where client data is managed
2. Expert in database and data warehousing design, experience managing
implementations of data warehousing and business intelligence solutions,
strong ability to formulate data warehouse and data mart designs
3. Strong experience supporting the underlying data architecture of
transactional and analytical systems in P insurance industry
4. Data quality and master data management experience such as performing
initial data quality assessments, defining and implementing approaches to
show continuous quality improvement, implementing techniques to accurately
group data, implementing survivorship rules and maintaining traceability
5. Experience establishing data governance organizations and policies,
interacting with business representatives to define business rules,
retention rules, resolving conflict between business rules, capture and
implement business rules,
6. External integration experience including file transports protocols and
methods, MFT applications, extracting data from files, working with
external sources to understand file layouts and definitions and then map
elements to target models
7. Broad range of ETL/ELT experience ranging from simple replication to
complex transformations from multiple sources, defining frameworks and
re-usable components, defining and document source/target mappings,
leverage change data capture approaches to deliver data in near real time.
8. Managing operational, technical and business metadata including business
rules and semantics
9. Expert in leading data modeling and process mapping initiatives; mapping
business processes to data requirements and then designing data structures
that support data extraction, tabular reporting and analytics; experience
designing and developing relational and/or dimensional logical and physical
data models (as appropriate), defining naming standards and compiling data
dictionaries
10. Experience with defining and implementing data security and encryption,
scrubbing sensitive and personally identifiable information for
non-production environments
11. Publishing of data architecture and information management processes to
enable development and business teams to succeed with minimal oversight
12. Experience with designing databases to be performant for the primary
consumption pattern and understanding the trade-offs of various approaches

Candidates should have the following skills:
1. Must be able to think strategically and enjoy being hands-on
2. Good communication and presentation skills, be able to make
presentations to all levels of IT including senior IT leadership
3. Mentor Architecture and Business Intelligence team members in a broad
range of data practice areas
4. Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence experience preferred,
including the following products: Microsoft
