The obvious question is-- how does one specify whether KM_SLEEP/KM_NOSLEEP
is used for the underlying allocation (for kernel applications).

[request-sponsor] CR 6428415 *HOT* Created P1 opensolaris/triage-queue Machines freezes after choosing installation option]

2006-06-07 Thread Seth Goldberg

[NOTE: Let's take this off this list for future communications]

Hi,

The following URL gives a good overview of the process:
   http://www.opensolaris.org/os/communities/participation

(You're in the development phase :) -- we just need to root-cause the
problem and and come up with fix, at which point you'll test it, and we can
integrate it.) I'll try to help as best I can (but of course without having
the hardware it's difficult to do direct debugging, and the general idea of
sponsorship is to have the contributor do the heavy-lifting), including advice
on how to debug problems like these.

One thing we may want to do is contact Tyan and see if they can tell us what
changed in their 2882 BIOS from v3.03 to 3.06 (since you stated that going
back to v3.03 cleared up on of the hangs).

   Thanks,
