[request-sponsor] Re: Request for a sponsor of a driver for LSI Logic
AFAIK, if they're willing to, employers can sign SCAs too, which might open up that route. This message posted from opensolaris.org

There is no need for an SCA in this situation. No one responded to my previous question about how to handle this situation, so I'm going to suggest a course of action. An RFE should be filed to request the new functionality. That ID can go on the request_sponsor table. The sponsor can get the approval for the third-party open source, and it can be integrated. David, do you want to file the RFE and send me the ID? Then I'll put this on the table as a request for a sponsor. Thanks. [request-sponsor] Re: Request for a sponsor of a driver for LSI Logic MegaRAID SAS controllers
Nice to see that there is some development on these drivers! I, for one, would love to have a stable dell perc 5/i driver in solaris - I got a PE 2900 myself, and the only way to have more than 4 connected hard disks /and/ keep support from dell is to order a Perc 5/i controller from them. Since Dell's PowerEdge's are a very common choice for a server, it would make sense to integrate this driver into Solaris. Just my 2 cents. This message posted from opensolaris.org
