You do not need to edit any files. Hi As per your comment i was going to update the jar files in jboss 7 but in that case i need to edit module.xml for all jar files which become very painful at this time. Yup, thats the problem, AS7 internally creates a hidden resteasy servlet, but this servlet is not loaded on startup. You'll have to bootstrap Resteasy manually. Alternatively, you can upgrade to Resteasy 3.0. The server cache has been refactored into a JAX-RS 2.0 Feature and can be configured and deployed through your Application class. What does your web.xml look like? I believe AS7 is loading the resteasy servlet lazily and the cache can't be initialized. This NPE could only happen if there was a failure on start(). Is there other stack traces on boot?
