We have a Quantum Snap server 20 gig. We mount it on a PowerComputing machine using system 8.6. We do have a problem with the backup freezing up towards the end of backing up the server then the server drops off the network and must be restarted. We have been working with Quantum to resolve

Nicholas, As you say, this should work. Retrospect should be able to back up a server mounted on your desktop, emulating AppleShare. Different server software packages do AppleShare emulation in varied ways, so we can only say for sure that true AppleShare and NT Services for Mac will definitely
