That diff command line will only generate a diff of the staged changes,
relative to the commit on HEAD. In order for that diff to work in Review
Board, the commit on HEAD must be pushed upstream. if it's not, you'll
definitely get these sorts of errors.
RBTools goes several steps further here.

Basic reason is that a lot of companies ended up settling on very long
group names/descriptions, which are harder to digest. By choosing an ID,
which often matches the ID they're familiar with from a mailing list or IRC
channel, it's easy to see at a glance what group is being referred
In Reviewboard 2.0.18, if you go to the dashboard for a review group (say
the name is foo but the display name is Foo Beta Users) the url will be
http://site.com/groups/groupName.
On the dashboard of the group, it will say Review requests for foo rather
than Review requests for Foo Beta Users.
