Re: How to make a field required?

2013-12-13 Thread Christian Hammond
I'm open to making this more easily configurable in 2.0 through an
extension in a reliable way, but allowing admins to customize the list of
required fields out of the box is the sort of "settings overload" we're
trying to avoid by having extension support.

Re: How to make a field required?

2013-12-13 Thread Blair Barnett
Hi Christian,

Thanks. I thought that was the case but was hoping there was some way to do
it.
I'd like to vote for configurable attribute fields, since each installation
might have a different need. This could be available in the
"Administration" UI.

Thanks!

Re: How to make a field required?

2013-12-12 Thread Christian Hammond
Hi Blair,

There's no way to do this without modifying the code. In most cases, it
doesn't make sense for every change to have a bug number, so we don't
optimize for that.

It's possible that an extension could do this in 2.0 beta by flipping the
'required' attribute for a field but there's no official support.
