t turned out that moving "Vizkit.control log" after the
"Orocos.conf.apply" line fixed the problem. So something inside
Vizkit destroyed the available configurations.
Is this a bug? If it's a feature, it should be documented somewhere...

While we're on it: PCL 1.7.1 is 2,5 years old, and there's been a ton
of improvements since. PCL 1.7.2 has been released 1,5 years ago, and
the PCL maintainers are preparing the 1.8.0 release at the moment; it
would be nice if we could upgrade at some point.

upgrade to PCL 1.7.2, we should probably announce that on
rock-users and implore everyone to test their code before that next
version is released, right? What's the usual process in Rock for this
sort of thing?
Best wishes,

Transformer does a similar thing on the transformation_monitor branch:

P.S.: Pro tip: Don't use `git push --force`, always use `git push
--force-with-lease` instead, if you have to. This still has almost all
the problems of a force push, so don't us
en copying the code from ROS. The ROS
version still has that warning:
https://github.com/ros/kdl_parser/blob/f98550669b5821c6fd99ffdbe79f3463f152e348/kdl_parser/src/kdl_parser.cpp#L198-L200
