hm, i think the user will confuse, if 'aliases' for i.e. rooms etc. show up as global vcard. it will allso trashn the global vcard for clients like kontact. On the other hand, using this mechanisms (that already exist) to make several aliases point to one destination is a smart idea.Perhaps a
IG, an alias should be a room. You should be able to configure an SMTP
name for all rooms. then when you go in to edit a room (ANY room) you
should be able to specify (if you're an aide) network distribution
parameters for that room, which could be IGnet, outgoing email echo,
Just because everything is a room is how it's implemented doesn't have
to imply that the user interface presents it as such. To a WebCit user,
for example, it could just be a web page with a list of aliases she can
click on that will then list the target(s) for that alias.
well, yeah, address books should also be usable as templates. that is,
you can call up a window to compose a blank message, then say add
everyone on address list to the To: field of this message and then remove
some of the recipients for this specific message...
