Greetings! I'd like to try Rosegarden on my Debian Wheezy box, but I've already installed Lilypond 2.16.2 locally, which works as I need it to. I'm concerned that if I install Rosegarden from the Debian repo it will install its own (from my POV obsolete) version of Lilypond. How can I install

My understanding of installing stuff into /usr/local/bin is that it will take precedence over stuff that is installed from a package manager into /usr/bin as it is first in $path. If the system finds it first in /usr/local/bin it will use it, if not it will look for it in /usr/bin. Shelagh On
