HI,
I have a filesystem containing a symbolic link.
pglc0003 ls -l |grep TA
lrwxrwxrwx1 cleawadm26 Nov 19 17:23 TA -
/pgadm1/adm/cleaw/tempArea
I'd like to copy the symbolic link TA to the /tmp area, I'd also like to have the
directory tempArea from
I'm getting the error:
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at
/SourceCache/rsync/rsync-11/rsync/clientserver.c(83)
This is on OSX 10.3.1 running rsync version 2.5.6 protocol version
26.
And the same for the rsync server.
Any suggestions?

Hi Rsyncers,
I have now succesfully deployed rsync as a means to replicate our main
production servers running SCOMBAG^D^D^D^D OpenServer. (Dont worry, we'll
let the company die, and switch to something better..)
To do so however, I had to split the dirs I sync (25GB orso), into smaller
chuncks

Hello. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this:
We've got a production server with _LOTS_ of files on it. The system is a dual

Have you tried rsync 2.5.5 ?
I have reverted to that because 2.5.6 was hanging every time (see my posting
on 2003-11-17). I used 2.5.5 for several months without problems, before
upgrading cygwin recently.
Unlike you I am NOT using ssh.
I am using rsync (at work that is) as part of a script
Hi,
I've been following discussions around rsync hanging problems on cygwin for
awhile. Since the problem occurs at the end of the pipeline after files are
copied successfully, I thought we can make a kind of workaround : Kill those
processes in a controlled way.
My solution is a perl script :
I have been having the same problem as many that if files are to many rsync
locks up and goes no further. In the latest list an admin said he was not
having the issue with 2.5.5. Can you tell me where I can get the source for
this so I can try it for my systems. Thanks
