[RollTideFan] Are you a Democrat, Republican or Southern Republican

2005-08-12 Thread Mike Laborde
Forwarded from another list:

 Are you a Democrat, Republican or Southern Republican

 Here is a little test that will help you decide.

 Question: How do you tell the difference between Democrats,
 Republicans And Southern Republicans?

 The answer can be found by posing the following question:

 You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small

 children. Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes

 around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises

 Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a
 Glock

 cal .40, and you are an expert shot?

 You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.

 What do you do?

 ~~~
 Democrat's Answer:
 Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
 Does the man look poor! Or oppressed?
 Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
 Could we run away?
 What does my wife think?
 What about the kids?
 Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out
 of  his hand?
 What does the law say about this situation?
 Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?
 Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message
 does this send to society and to my children?
 Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?
 Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to
 wound me?
 If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away
 while he was stabbing me?
 Should I call 9-1-1?
 Why is this street so deserted?
 We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this
 happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.
 This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends
 for few days and try to come to a consensus.
 ~
 Republican's Answer:
 BANG!
 ~
 Southern Republican's Answer:
 BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
 BANG! click.(sounds of reloading).
 BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
 BANG! click
 Daughter: Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver
[RollTideFan] HUMOR: Gay or Not? (R-Rated)
2005-07-18 Thread Mike Laborde
LANGUAGE WARNING!!
Hey JoBu! How are those abs?
 TAKE THE TEST...THEN COME OUT OF THE CLOSET!
 1. If you are over thirty and you have a washboard stomach, you are
 gay. It means you haven't sucked back enough beer with the boys and
 have spent the rest of your free time doing sit-ups, aerobics, and
 doing the Oprah diet.
 2. If you have a cat, you are a Flming homo. A cat is like a
 dog, but gay-it grooms itself constantly but never scratches
 itself, has a delicate touch except when it uses its nails, and
 whines to be fed. And just think about how
 you call a dog...Killer, come here! I said get your ass over here!
  Now think about how you call a cat...Bun-bun, come to daddy,
 snookums! Jeeezus, you're fit to be framed, you're so gay.
 3. If you suck on lollipops, Ring-Pops, baby pacifiers, or any such
 nonsense, rest assured, you are a Gaylord. A straight man only
 sucks on bar-b-que ribs, crab claws, raw oysters, crawfish guts,
 pickled pigsfeet, or breasts. Anything else and you are in training
 to suck El Dicko and undeniably a fag.
 4. If you refuse to take a dump in a public bathroom or piss in a
 parking lot, you're in a deep homosexual relationship. A man's
 world is his bathroom; he defecates and urinates where he pleases.
 5. If you drink decaf coffee with skim milk, you like a high hard
 one in the poop chute. Coffee is to be had strong, black, and full
 aroma. A straight man will never be heard ordering a Decaf Cafe
 Latte with Skim and he will never, ever know what artificial
 sweetener tastes like. If you've had Nutrasweet in your mouth,
 you've had a dick there too.
 6. If you know more than six names of colors or four different
 types of dessert, you might as well be handing out free passes to
 your ass. A real man doesn't have memory space in his brain to
 remember all of that crap as well as all the names of all the
 players in the Major league, NFL, NBA, college ball, PGA, and
 NASCAR. If you can pick out chartreuse or you know what a
 fressier is, you're gay. And if you can name ANY type of textile
 other than denim, you are faggadocious.
 7. If you drive with both hands on the wheel, forget it--you're
 hungry for a meat popsicle. A man only puts both hands on the wheel
 to honk at a slow-ass driver or to cut the punk off. The rest of
 the time he needs that hand to change the radio station, eat a
 hamburger, hold his beer, or play with the bitch in the passenger
 seat.
 8. If you enjoy romantic comedies or French films, mon-frere,
 vousle Gay, oui? The only time it is acceptable to watch one of
 those is with a woman who knows how to reward her man. Watching any
 of the above films by yourself or with another man is likely to
 result in SHC (spontaneous homosexual combustion), which is what
 happens to fags when they flame out too quickly.
Rick, ror the record, you don't get the credit this time.
My wife talked me into allowing pictures  HTML just like many have been wanting
for a long time. I announced it and got a smart-assed reply from someone.
I do not consider this a pissing contest but a discussion on the future and
history of the list that we all (hopefully) love.
As far as the perceived server trouble is concerned, I will not be moving the
list until a proven better server is found. I appreciate Charles' suggestion but
$39/month is way to high a bill for me to foot alone. We had a poll a while
back and the majority of those who took the time to respond said they didn't
think the list was worth changing over to a subscription. So here we are.
I think everyone for the good karma  words but they are not necessary. Please.
[RollTideFan] ADMIN Notice For RollTideFan
2005-07-13 Thread Mike Laborde
I've read the whining about the server. I've spent an assload of money on
different servers only to be kicked off without notice or reason (without a
refund), have shitty server performance, have my bandwidth requirements
throttled without notice, etc...
The list needs to reside on a server that uses CPanel software for domain and
file maintenance because that is the format that we've always used. This
includes MailMan mail  list software. All of out files are compatible with this
format only.The server also has to allow lists to be created which, believe it
or not, not all do. Some ignorant serve admins are so stupid that they set up
the software wrong and get hammered by e-mails once a list is used. They think I
am a spammer and jack me with no conversation. If the software is set up
correctly there are none of those issues.
What I am saying it that I have always tried to use the best server available
within our requirements and financial limitations. Some are better than others.
Now, since the vast, vast majority of people on this list only lurk (you suck!)
then i can't see any reason we can't allow pictures to be posted. We need only
GIF  JPEG/JPG images and NO MOVIES (of ANY kind) or WAV/sound files until we
see how this will work on out bandwidth.
As for HTML, knock your socks off until we see how it uses bandwidth.
I've asked for this before with almost no response, but here goes: If you want a
more reliable server then find it. Use the requirements listed above plus it
needs to be a UNIX server. Let us know what you find. Also, if you want to see
the message board resurrected, please volunteer to be the admin.
Bitter? I don't think so. I am irritated because people piss  moan about
pictures  html and when I relent I get a smart-assed remark rather than
anything even remotely positive. Smart ass is funny sometimes. Sometimes it's
just smart-assed.
Also, I explained why we need to go to a certain software on a server. Do you
want to type 150 or more e-mail addresses into Google to get everyone signed up?
I'm not going to do it. Do you think that the majority of the membership will
[RollTideFan] HUMOR: A Letter Home
2005-06-24 Thread Mike Laborde
 Dear Ma and Pa,
 I am well. Hope you are. Tell Brother Walt and Brother Elmer the
 Marine Corps beats working for old man Minch by a mile. Tell them
 to join up quick before all of the places are filled. I was
 restless at first because you got to stay in bed till nearly 6 a.m.
 but I am getting so I like to sleep late.
 Tell Walt and Elmer all you do before breakfast is smooth your cot,
 and shine some things. No hogs to slop, feed to pitch, mash to mix,
 wood to split, fire to lay. Practically nothing. Men got to shave
 but it is not so bad, there's warm water.
 Breakfast is strong on trimmings like fruit juice, cereal, eggs,
 bacon, etc. but kind of weak on chops, potatoes, ham, steak, fried
 eggplant, pie and other regular food, but tell Walt and Elmer you
 can always sit by the two city boys that live on coffee. Their food
 plus yours holds you til noon when you get fed again. It's no
 wonder these city boys can't walk much.
 We go on route marches, which the platoon sergeant says are long
 walks to harden us. If he thinks so, it's not my place to tell him
 different. A route march is about as far as to our mailbox at
 home. Then the city guys get sore feet and we all ride back in
 trucks.
 The country is nice but awful flat. The sergeant is like a school
 teacher. He nags a lot. The Captain is like the school board.
 Majors and colonels just ride around and frown. They don't bother
 you none.
 This next will kill Walt and Elmer with laughing. I keep getting
 medals for shooting. I don't know why. The bulls-eye is near as big
 as a chipmunk head and don't move, and it ain't shooting at you
 like the Leggett boys at home. All you got to do is lie there all
 comfortable and hit it. You don't even load your own cartridges.
 They come in boxes.
 Then we have what they call hand-to-hand combat training. You get
 to wrestle with them city boys. I have to be real careful though,
 they break real easy. It ain't like fighting with that ole bull at
 home. I'm about the best they got in this except for that Doug
 Bingham from over in Tennessee. I only beat him once. He joined up
 the same time as me, but I'm only 5'6 and 130 pounds and he's 6'8
 and near 300 pounds dry.
 Be sure to tell Walt and Elmer to hurry and join before other
 fellers get onto this setup and come stampeding in.
 Your loving daughter,
 Gail
So the lizard climbs up and sits next to the monkey
After a while the lizard says his mouth is 'dry',
At the riverbank, the lizard is so stoned that he
A Crocodile sees this and swims over to the stoned
He then asks the lizard, What's the matter with
The lizard explains to the crocodile that he was
IS TEXAS NEXT?
By ERIC BERGER
Copyright 2005 Houston Chronicle
By century's end, much of southern Louisiana may sink into the Gulf of Mexico.
The Texas coastline, including Galveston, could soon follow.
That's the sobering — and controversial — conclusion of a new report published
by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration that finds the northern
Gulf of Mexico is sinking much faster than geologists thought.
The report centers on the humble benchmark, a small metal disk bolted to the
ground, that provides a standard elevation above sea level for land surveying
and mapping as well as determining flood-prone areas.
But there's one problem with benchmarks: They don't give reliable elevation
readings if they're sinking along with everything else.
That's what the geologists who wrote the NOAA report say is happening in
Louisiana: The yardstick is broken. Instead of minimal geologic subsidence along
most of the Louisiana coast, as previously thought, the state's entire coastal
region is sinking at least 5 feet every century.
And although a number of local officials disagree with the report's conclusions
about Texas, here's a scary thought: Similar forces could well be at work just a
few miles south of Houston.
Subsidence doesn't stop at the Texas border, said Roy Dokka, a co-author of
the NOAA report and a Louisiana State University geologist.
A colleague of Dokka's in Houston, the editor of the Houston Geological Society
Bulletin, is more blunt in his assessment of the report. Galveston, says
geologist Arthur Berman, is history.
Flooding a major threat
The report already has ignited debate in Louisiana. If that state's coast
continues to sink, its multibillion-dollar plan to protect coastal cities and
wetlands from flooding has targeted the wrong problem, erosion. Every building
on land certified as safe from flooding may, in fact, be in danger if
Louisiana's benchmarks are flawed. And levees thought to protect New Orleans
from a Category 3 hurricane might fail even if a moderate Category 2 storm
struck the Big Easy.
Texas could have similar problems if its benchmark elevations are flawed. The
National Hurricane Center bases its storm-surge models on benchmarks, as do
emergency planners trying to determine when key evacuation routes might flood.
Houston felt the problem acutely during Tropical Storm Allison when benchmarks
indicated that certain areas, such as some Texas Medical Center buildings,
should not have flooded even in the torrent of rain produced by that storm.
We know that a lot of benchmarks in Texas are inaccurate, said Gary Jeffress,
a mapping specialist at Texas AM University-Corpus Christi.
Shifting land
Subsidence — the sinking or settling of land — comes in two basic forms. One is
man-made, caused by groundwater pumping or oil and gas extraction. The other,
which Dokka says is causing nearly all of the problems along Louisiana's coast,
is natural, or geologic, subsidence.
Houston has grappled with man-made subsidence for the past 30 years with help
from the Harris-Galveston Coastal Subsidence District, which has spent about $10
million studying and measuring the problem.
As a result of this research, the Houston region has undergone a
multibillion-dollar conversion from ground wells to surface water for its
consumer and industrial needs. In the next decade or so, north and west Harris
County will spend as much as $3 billion more for a similar conversion.
Ron Neighbors, general manager of the subsidence district, said he thinks this
conversion has largely solved the area's subsidence problems. He attributes
little of the region's sinking to geologic subsidence and doesn't think the
area's coastal regions may be sinking as much as 4 or 5 feet a century.
We realize there is some amount of natural subsidence that will occur over
time, Neighbors said. But we believe that to be about three quarters of a foot
per century.
If he has little confidence in the report by Dokka, Neighbors has even less in
the scientist himself. Neighbors said the Louisiana geologist has incentive to
cause fear.
You don't get any grants if you say everything is OK, Neighbors said.
Berman said that, although conclusions drawn by Dokka's report are
controversial, they were checked by NOAA for 18 months and wouldn't have been
published if they were bogus. The controversy comes, he says, because the
findings challenge existing models.
Every geologist agrees that three main factors contribute to coast loss: rising
sea levels, coastal erosion and subsidence. What Dokka and his supporters
suggest is that the role of natural subsidence is nearly as important, or even
more important, than man-made subsidence. And the problem for coastal planners
is that, unlike with man-made subsidence, there's nothing that can be done to
stop natural subsidence.
[RollTideFan] If You Want to Win in Sports, Wear Red
2005-05-18 Thread Mike Laborde
We already knew wearing crimson made you a winner!
Wearing orange makes you a redneck piece of goat fucking shit.  Fuck those
Homer-sexshul orange  blue barner bastards!
==
http://asia.news.yahoo.com/050518/ap/d8a5pufo0.html
If You Want to Win in Sports, Wear Red
If winning is everything, British anthropologists have some advice: Wear red.
Their survey of four sports at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens shows
competitors were more likely to win their contests if they wore red uniforms or
red body armor.
Across a range of sports, we find that wearing red is consistently associated
with a higher probability of winning, report Russell A. Hill and Robert A.
Barton of the University of Durham in England. Their findings are in Thursday's
issue of the journal Nature.
Red coloration is associated with aggression in many animals. Often it is
sexually selected so that scarlet markings signal male dominance.
Just think of the red stripes on the scowling face of the male Mandrill,
Africa's largest monkey species. But red is not exclusively a male trait. It's
the female black widow spider that is venomous and displays a menacing red dot
on her abdomen.
Similarly, the color's effect also may subconsciously intimidate opponents in
athletic contests, especially when the athletes are equal in skill and strength,
the researchers suggest.
In their survey, the anthropologists analyzed the results of four combat sports
at the summer games: boxing, tae kwon do, Greco-Roman wrestling and freestyle
wrestling.
In those events, the athletes were randomly assigned red protective gear and
other sportwear.
Athletes wearing red gear won more often in 16 of 21 rounds of competition in
all four events.
The effect was the same regardless of weight classes, too: 19 of 29 classes had
more red winners, and only four rounds had more blue winners.
The red effect also might come into play in team sports.
The anthropologists made a preliminary analysis of the Euro 2004 international
soccer tournament, in which teams wore jerseys of different colors in different
matches. They found that five teams scored more goals and won more often when
they wore shirts that were predominantly red, as opposed to blue or white
jerseys.
Scientists don't precisely known how wearing red might give athletes an
advantage. But the color delivers implicit messages of vigor and danger. When
people get angry, their faces turn red. It's also a reason why stop signs are
red. So are most Ferraris.
A case can perhaps be made that most of the recent winners of U.S. sports
championships have at least a touch of red on their uniforms: among pro teams,
the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, the Detroit Pistons. And in college
sports, the USC Trojans.
But it's the gracious sport of golf that offers the best example. Tiger Woods
wears an iconic red shirt on Sundays, the day when most tournaments are won.
days it will take her to die will cause even more suffering that she has
experienced to date. It's a horrible, horrible way to die.
I know my self and I know my fat ass could never do this but  I wish a few
hundred or a few thousand people would go and camp in front of the hospital and
the judge's house and not eat or drink until she is either dead or put back on
food. Let the public, the monster of a husband, and that piece of shit judge see
what happens to a starved  dehydrated body. Pain killers or not, it's going to
be horrible.
 want to become Leroy's bitch in prison.
 Just a thought...
[RollTideFan] Fwd: Death Process From Starvation
2005-03-19 Thread Mike Laborde
 From another list:
 Death Process From Starvation
 Friday March 18, 2005 9:16 PM
 By The Associated Press
 The general process of death for patients whose food and hydration
 tubes are withdrawn: -Day One: The percutaneous endoscopic
 gastrotomy tube, which is placed through the skin and into the
 stomach, is removed in a simple surgical procedure. Patients who do
 not have mental cognition to have a sense of thirst or hunger will
 not be uncomfortable. - Days Three to Four: Urine output decreases
 and patients begin to lose normal body secretions. The mouth begins
 to look dry and the eyes appear sunken. Patients will look thinner
 because the body tissues have lost fluid. Their heart rate
 gradually goes up and their blood pressure goes down. In some
 patients, dehydration releases endorphins in the brain that create
 a state of euphoria. - Days Five to 10: People who are alert have a
 marked decrease in their alertness. Respiration becomes irregular
 with periods of very fast and then very slow breathing. Some
 patients will become restless, while others will be less active.
 For patients in a persistent vegetative state, there may be no
 discernible change in their movements. - Days 10 to Death: Patients
 do not appear to respond to their environment at all and may appear
 to be in a coma. Length of death process is determined by how well-
 nourished patient was and how much body fat and fluid they had when
 procedure began. May be outward signs of dehydration, such as
 extremely dry skin. Kidney function declines and toxins begin
 accumulating in the body. Toxins cause respiratory muscles to fail.
 Multiple organ systems begin to fail from lack of nutrition.
[RollTideFan] Double Sad News Day In Florida... [Fwd: FNC Alert] (non-Bama)
2005-03-18 Thread Mike Laborde
Will any RTF'er in Florida please kill this man? A very slow and painful death
is preferable but dead is dead. While he is dying, ram a hot poker up his ass
repeatedly.
While you are at it, Judge George Greer needs a good old fashioned Southern ass
whoopin' too.
We certainly do have a problem with the judiciary in this country. Many seem to
think they are above the law. We need serious reform.
Thanks for letting me vent!
Terry may have actually expressed her wishes today. Check this out. It's
heartbreaking.
http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2005/3/18/174428.shtml
Terri: 'I Wnnt [to Live]'
A mentally disabled woman whose court-ordered starvation-execution began
Friday attempted to contradict her estranged husband's claim that she wants
to die hours before her feeding tube was disconnected, an eyewitness is
claiming.
Barbara Weller, an attorney for Terri Schiavo's parents, told reporters
Friday afternoon that during her visit earlier in the day she told Ms.
Schiavo:
Terri, if you would just say, 'I want to live,' all of this will be over.
According to pro-life activist Randall Terry, who recounted the scene to
radio host Sean Hannity, Schiavo tried desperately to repeat Weller's words.
'I wannt ...,' Schiavo allegedly said, in a prolonged yell that had
police stationed nearby running into her hospice room.
She just started yelling, 'I wnnt, I wnnt,' Terry said, according
to Weller's account.
At that point police ejected Weller, he said.
 You're right, Judge Greer, George Felos, and Michael Shiavo will
 someday have to answer for their deeds, but none of that helps
 Terri today. If she expressed a wish to die in this situation, why
 did it take him so long to come forward with that information? It
 doesn't hurt anyone for her to be allowed to live, why kill her?
She is not a vegetable. The only support she is on is for feeding.
