It should be dead easy to install, also on Windows. I hang on #samusers
if there are any questions.

many thanks :)
Here's a question which has probably been asked before

Can anyone recommend:
1 - PC (Windows) based C compiler that will output to
Z80 code
2 - a PC (WIndows) based Z80 compiler that will output
to Z80 code
All help appreciated.. I want to get my

How about this one:

z88dk has additionally special SAM Coup support in their libraries although they are far from perfect.

Apart from the extra disk of libraries that were released for SAM C, (Vision or
something was it?) was there any updates to the original SAM C itself?
Can we leave arguements of how cack or not cack it is, aside please? :) Anyone
ever create anything half decent in it?
Cheers,
Gavin

The two disks I have are:
SAM 'C' Version 4.21
Small C version 3.2
I'm guessing that Small C is just an earlier
I wonder if C for CP/M was so simple too?
And, aren't there at least two C compilers for Sam?
I think SAM-C is derived from Small-C that goes way
back to Dr Dobb's Journal in the late 70's. Was the
Sam version a re-write or a port?

Some years ago I bought Sam C from Fred publishing.
I remember that subsequent issues of Fred, published pokes to correct some
bugs in the program.
I've lost these pokes... ( including the issues of Fred )
I don't recall any such pokes or patches on FRED

Can anyone help, and does the program work properly once the pokes are in
place.

A bug in Sam C.
A vicious rumour persists that there's actually a function hidden
somewhere within Sam C that works as it's meant to, although I haven't
been able to find it... ;)

A bug in Sam C.
Don't believe you :-)
An older version doesn't seem to have that bug, so was
suggesting other
people try the older version (if they have it) if they have problems.
I always had problems with kbhit(), so I stole the keypress routine from
Mr Laundon's ProType...

And how many people do you think have *any* version of Sam C? :-)

I was having a lod of problems compiling a menu last night that used
kbhit(), it didn't work.
This was dispite the fact it was just a recompilation of the slidey menu I
did for fred, which obviously did work ;-)

, and tried that. Compiled and worked first time.
Not sure if this has anything to do with the use ofthe zues assembler
rather than the one that sam C originally used. Not sure if this is
related to the sam problem in Sam Vision, but might be worth trying the
old version if you have that problem (I
