I have running Samba 3 Rc2 cvs as Pdc
which is now really working fine.
I was able to setup login script generation on the fly
with root preexec enabled in the netlogon share.
So i have now have scripts
for machines %m.bat i.e. win2k.bat
for groups %G.bat i.e users.bat

/usr/local/samba/bin/wbinfo --sequence
AD1 : DISCONNECTED
AD2 : 10074
/usr/local/samba/bin/smbpasswd -j AD2 -r PDS -U Administrator%password
Joined domain AD2
AD2 and AD1 are both child of an AD. I also have manually trusted AD1 with
AD2 but doesn't seem to work

I'm trying to migrate accounts from my NT4 server, I followed each step
described in the HOWTO :
- tunred off samba
- set domain master at No in config file
- created groups + mappings as it is advised to
- created the BDC account in the NT4 server manager
- net rpc join'ed the domain
but
over 'netbios name=' u manage the 'windows name' of your server.
additionally u have to check following name sources (if they exist):
- wins and/or dns
- hosts file on the clients

I'm using samba with acl on AIX and FreeBSD systems. But, when I copy or
move files from a Windows 2000 Share to the Samba Share I lost the

I'm having a problem when copying a particular samba-shared directory.
The dir contains some folders which are world-writable, but the
top-level dir is not world-writable. The directory mode is set to
2775 (the 2 is for set-gid). When I copy this folder, all of the new
folders are 2775,
