How can I make it so that on Samba shares the desktop.ini file is interpreted
(responsible for displaying the folder customisations such as icons like My
Music or My Pictures folders or others folders customized with the Customize
tab in the properties window). It is interpreted OK on local

Yes, its the configuration file of NSS, it says from which base the
information are readed, when using LDAP it needs to read from LDAP too.

usb storage, my samba is a PDC.
the key in the window's registry is
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UsbStor
