Hi,
I am using samba in ads mode with a Windows SBS 2003 domain controller.
samba: 3.0.24-6
server os: Debian Etch.
client os: Vista Business SP1
The system has been running effectively for more than 4 years with Windows XP
machines. I now have a Vista laptop that I am using on the

Thanks much for your help, this went off almost without a hitch
yesterday. I changed WINS in DHCP and exported/imported the SID, and
everything came up just fine. I spent a few hours testing and came
across a few things that changed between versions (profiles were on by
default), bu

My network topology is changing. One of my network segments that used to be
hard-wired will now be connecting to the rest of the network through DSL,
with a layer of OpenVPN on top. I am having the hardest time getting any
form of cross-subnet browsing or WINS working.
My PDC is called CORPSRV.

Hello,
I just finished to read chapter 22 of the samba howto.
This chapter explains very well how printing from a win client via samba
and cups work.
If I understood it right, printing a file from windows to a non
postscript printer via cups driver, samba an cups works like this:

Thanks. I'll try to get this fixed today. Apparently
the 3.0.30 tree I used still had some temporary build
files in it.

Dear friends,
I failed to buld samba 3.0.30 for tru64unix 4.0F.
I am curently locked to this os version due to other production
software.
We currently run Samba 2.2.8a but we were requested to upgrade by our
network group.
I downloaded 3.3.30 and did
$ cd source
$ ./configure
no warnings
I have run a debug level 10, and removed the option "PASSWORD SERVER"
from the configuration file since my last email.
Also since the last post I have checked to ensure I'm using gcc 4.1.2 by
changing the profile correctly, which I'd not done in the past.
I think that removing password server got
Hi,
I have some configuration questions concerning the setup of ctdb samba:
1. I assume samba must be installed on all nodes in the ctdb
environment?
2. Is the smb.conf file configured separately on all nodes?
a. If yes, does that mean you have to ensure all smb.conf fil
