Having a very similar problem:
I am using pam_winbind to login to a workstation using domain
credentials. The login works fine and the logged-in user
is assigned his primary domain group membership, but not his
secondary domain group membership(s).
Configuration:
- NT Domain
- PDC is Samba
I have Samba Version 3.5.8-74.fc13 (Fedora 13) set up as the PDC for an NT
domain.
I have several Windows XP Pro and Windows 7 Ultimate workstations as
domain members and everything is working fine. Domain users can log-in
at the workstations, access shares on the Samba server and the other

My experience from this is in getting ubuntu workstations to operate in
the domain environment, also using a samba PDC in a mixed windows/linux
environment. It took me a couple weeks to piece everything together,
was not a trivial task. I have posted my notes to this list on how
I have a RedHat 7.2 (2.4.9-13) box running Samba (2.2.7).
The box is a PDC for a couple of Win2k Pro SP4 boxes and
serves a couple of shares.
My problem is that, after rebooting a Win2k client, the
client can't access the shares any more.
If I try to access the shares, I am presented with a
