This is not so:
I tried this and it still did not work. The problem as far as I can
tell is that samba is not even attempting to search for the user after
it adds it. The very last operations in my slapd.log after the error
occured, were:
conn=20539 op=1 SRCH base="dc=pca-wichita,dc=com" scope=2
filter="(&
I had the same problem here. The change you've made was the same. Going
up to the root level of LDAP and set a sub search. No way. The solution
was to put TWO nss_base_passwd lines:
nss_base_passwd ou=Users,dc=liga-acb,dc=es?one
nss_base_passwd ou=Computers,dc=liga-acb,dc=es?one
Try it and let m

Have you submitted this to idealx? T

Please help!
I'm having a difficult time getting a machine to join my domin. Samba
sucessfully adds the machine account using the smbldap-useradd -w
script, but I get the error "The user name could not be found".
Here's what it looks like it's doing in the ldap logs:

To test, I suggest that you stop your iptables
services (by running "service iptable stop"). Then try
to join your domain.
On XP clients, you should edit a regtry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters]
"requiresignorseal"=dword:

When I used smbldap-populate way back when I set up my LDAP server, I got two
sambaDomainName objects in my LDAP tree -- one for the domain name (CORP) and
one for the PDC Netbios name (CORPSRV). My Windows XP systems complain that
they can't find the PDC for the domain CORPSRV. I am wondering

Hi all,
In my smbldap.conf, I have the following:
defaultMaxPasswordAge="90"
Therefore I would expect when I add a new user, for it to insert the value
7776000. However it inserts the value 1114351589. And every time a user
changes his/her password after it HAS expired (which funnily happens

I've checked cvs for any diffs. but haven't found any.
Was this the samba cvs or the idealx cvs (assuming there is one)? You
may want to talk to them directly at [EMAIL PROTECTED] since the
smbldap-tools scripts aren't maintained by the samba team (to my knowledge).

Hi, I have a question about smbldap-useradd.pl.
When i add a user with smbldap-useradd -m -a USERNAME, USERNAME
is not appended to sambaHomePath.
In smbldap_conf.pm i have sambaHomePath = q(SERVER\\)
I've solved this by adding ". $userName;" in
smbldap-useradd.pl (358).
...
my $valsmbhome;
Hi all,
I have smb.conf with:

add user script = /usr/local/sbin/smbldap-useradd -m "%u"
add machine script = /usr/local/sbin/smbldap-useradd -w "%u"
add group script = /usr/local/sbin/smbldap-gro
