installed. You need either to install the Sun Pro-C compiler or else

firewall, and cannot set valid settings. Trying open ports 139 udp,
137 tcp and 138 tcp doesn't work, users cannot access samba servises

Start by setting security = share until you can log on to the server,
then worry about authentication.
Make sure that you either have no firewall running on the server, or
that ports 137 to 139 are open from your local network to the server.

I am sure there are many ways to do this, but, for simple logging, the
macros generated when a user logs into a share might suffice. Here is
what I see when a user logs on as a guest (ftp) to the share public:
client machine NetBios name = hammer7 (%m)
Primary goup name of U = ftp (%G)
IP
Take a look at the Printbill program (I forget who it is written by), but
it has a feature that bypasses it's billing system and just logs who printed
and how much. It's a perl filter that would be called from the
/etc/printcap file.
Just search for Printbill on google.
