I think smbmount is a separate downloadable package (At least it was
with Debian). If I recall correctly the command to smbmount is
smbmount //HOME/myshare /mnt/home -Uuser1%mypassword

debian 3.0. Ever since then users are unable to change their own
passwords on their W2k machine. What happens is when they try to change

tar -zvf samba...latest.gz
