Hi... If I scan a page of text at 200dpi in color mode (for example) with xsane, then zoom in to 400%, I can see jpeg-like artifacts around letters and other sharp lines. This isn't an artifact of the xsane zooming process, as saving the file as a TIFF and examining the individual pixels with

Hi, Ever since installing sane-backends-1.0.18.tar.gz my Epson Perfection 3490 always warms up with each an every scan, no matter how promptly I am doing the scans, one after the other. Any ideas? bjd

Hello. I just tried to compile sane-cvs after a long time and got some error messages in the subdir tools due to not existing directories hotplug hotplug-ng udev I could simply add the directories to the CVS but I don`t know what should be listed in the .cvsignore
