Design and develop canonical data model and the messaging APIs for  various

Be a hands on data engineer alongside of data and DBA team to ensure

Introduce modern architecture practices and technologies in the data

Ability to design tests and invest in research and development to optimize
our data platform.
Develop and design Data APIs for service contract for JSON, WebService XML

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The ideal experience and critical competencies for the role include the
following:
3+ year experience with  canonical data modeling, dimensional modeling,
data mart development and  ETL development
Proven experience with XML, JSON, C#, business analytics and visualization
capability specifically with Tableau and other similar technologies.
Solid understanding of ETL strategies (Real-time & Batch) and design with a
strong understanding of the vendor and open source market place.
Experience working with and performance tuning database systems.
Solid understanding of Microsoft SQL, Amazon RedShift, NoSQL solutions
(Mongo / RavenDB /PostGreSQL ) and other high powered data platforms are
required.
Experience working in an agile team environment is strongly preferred
Strong knowledge version control, continuous integration and agile QA

Background

FirstNY (“FNY”), a unit within OSC’s Division of the Chief Information
Officer (CIO), is responsible for collecting data from numerous source
systems, transforming the data into a usable format, maintaining the data’s
accuracy and integrity, and securely disseminating this information to data
consumers. These consumers are comprised of OSC employees and the general
public. The public accesses this data through Freedom of Information Law
(FOIL) requests that are fulfilled via FNY and through Open Book New York
(OBNY), the Comptroller’s transparency website. Source systems include the
Statewide Financial System (SFS), PAYServ (NYS payroll system), the Local
Government and State Accountability subsystem, and the Public Authorities
Reporting System.

Data consumer demands on FNY have increased over the last several years.
Additionally, OSC is undergoing a number of architectural and technological
changes that are resource intensive. These include upgrading Oracle
Business Intelligence Tools to Oracle Business Intelligence Suite
Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) and re-architecting the FNY security model.

While we are hiring and training replacements, FNY requires an ETL
Developer to augment remaining staff.

Scope of Services
Under the direction of the Manager of FirstNY, the ETL Developer will:
1.Collaborate with coworkers, system users, business analysts and other CIO
teams to gather requirements for system changes and enhancements;
2.Perform analysis necessary to understand the requirements for system
changes and enhancements and any factors related to fulfilling these
requirements;
3.Design solutions to satisfy requirements for system changes and
enhancements;
4.Identify, analyze and resolve production issues;
5.Develop, remediate, enhance and refactor program code and Oracle
Warehouse Builder objects to implement design solutions and to enhance code
readability, efficiency, and maintainability;
6.Design test plans to confirm that the requirements of system changes and
enhancements are being met. Regression, unit, and integration testing
should be included in the design, as required;
7.Create and maintain documentation, as needed. Documentation will be
required for:
Program units and objects,
Processes,
Environment setup and configuration,
Solutions identified to resolve problems,
Test plans,
Business requirements, and
Design documents;
8.Report to the Manager of FirstNY on the status of tasks and any issues
encountered in applications;
9.Under the direction of the Manager of FirstNY and working with the CIO
Database Administration team, develop, implement, test and maintain a new
data warehouse security model, conforming to the FirstNY security guide and
the FirstNY technical reference manual;
10.Provide technical guidance, mentoring, knowledge transfer, and support
to other programmers; and

Minimum Qualifications
The Proposer’s candidate(s) must have a minimum of:
1.Five years of experience developing and maintaining a data interchange

The South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) has implemented a Data
Warehouse and related software components for purposes of tax and revenue
compliance and analysis. The Data Warehouse also serves as a primary data
source for other business intelligence activities. This work involves
proprietary software from Revenue Solutions Inc. (RSI), particularly their
Portfolio Warehouse (PW) product.
Historically, the Data Warehouse application team has used the proprietary
Embarcadero DT/Studio tool, along with custom transform code from RSI, to
load data from federal and state data sources into the Data Warehouse. The
team is now charged with converting all of the data load processes to use
Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) At this time an
experienced ETL (Extract, Translate, and Load) specialist with expertise in
SSIS is needed to assist in this process.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The following application tasks are expected to be executed by the Data
Warehouse systems software developer ETL specialist. All tasks will involve
some degree of up front analysis prior to development or execution, as well
as several phases of system and user acceptance testing.
These tasks/skills do not include database administration support or
technical infrastructure support tasks, as these responsibilities fall
under a different support area within the SCDOR IRM organization.
Responsible for building ETLs using SSIS packages to load data from various
data sources including files from internal and external data sources.
Setting up and running the proprietary Portfolio Warehouse Associate and
Grow (AG) offline process for data cleansing and matching of these files.
This includes configuring the AG match keys with consultation from the
business users and SCDOR Data Warehouse team.
Conduct quality assurance for loaded data.
Creating and executing “views” as required by business users.
Performing database utility functions, such as SQL Server Analytical
Services for OLAP, development of stored procedure, SSIS, etc. as needed

implementation is shifting our Data warehouse and Reporting infrastructure

Job Description
Experienced ETL developer to design, develop and implement Enterprise Data
Warehouse solutions for financial institutions.
Accountable for the Core Banking Replacement project deliverables including
interface design, ETL development, testing and implementation.
Must understand a variety of financial products such as derivatives,
securitization, fixed income, collateralized obligations and commercial
lending.
Must be able to understand and troubleshoot existing Informatica Mappings
and workflows.
Must be able to perform regression testing and resolve any Data mapping
issues.

*Experience Requirements*
Hands-on experience with Informatica ETL, min of 7 years and max 12 years
of experience
UNIX, DB2 and SQL is required Min 7 years.
Experience in Financial industries is a Must, min 5 years
Experience with SDLC/Waterfall methodologies is a Must, min 5 years.
Design and implement DWH web services is a plus
Experience with Business Objects a plus.
Experience in Commercial banking products a plus.
Experience with AML Applications/Reg Reporting a plus.
