Job Role:



This position is a hands-on, senior application developer for an existing
application development team. The ideal candidate should possess
demonstrated ability to:

Execute and program on an application development team through all phases
of the software development lifecycle

Provide expertise in triaging, diagnosing and resolving complex systems
issues

Quickly learn and apply new information and knowledge



General knowledge of the securities industry and CGC specific businesses.

Working knowledge in one or more highly specialized areas of application
development and/or business analysis that is of significant impact to the
organization.

Advanced knowledge of programming language(s), software development tools
and environment(s) and systems analysis and functional design.

Thorough knowledge of database concepts, database design, data modeling and
system architectures.

Expert knowledge of application design principles, practices, system
development methodologies and software life cycles.

Advanced knowledge of user interface principles and windows design
standards.

Thorough knowledge of security and disaster recovery requirements for
applications development.

Thorough knowledge of documentation and training.





Technical skills and experience: 6+ years



- Java 1.6

- Web technology fundamentals including: Web services (Java Metro), HTTP
 fundamentals, JavaScript

- Hibernate

- Spring

- Fundamentals of SQL queries



*Additional Info:*

+ Java/WebSphere developer with 6+ years of experience. + Strong preference
for minimum of 4+ years working on Consumer Credit Card applications +
Demonstrated understanding of Bank Credit regulations + Experience in
development and maintenance of Restful Web Services + Previous experience
leading teams is desirable. + Experience with Agile development methodology
and Scaled Agile Framework is also preferred.

• 7+ years of Java software engineering experience • experience developing
Restful APIs • expert knowledge of o test driven development, including
code coverage and profiling o mocking (JMock or Mockito) o design patterns
o readability, extensibility and testability of code o documentation o web
application security o performance testing and tuning • developed solutions
using Spring, NoSQL, continuous integration, and automated testing •
experience in Agile development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean
or XP • a propensity to create tools to automate repetitive tasks • a
deep-seated desire to learn new skills • mentored other java developers • a
BS or MS in Computer Science, or comparable experience

You might also have:

• experience writing cloud deployed applications using Amazon Web Services
• worked on messaging/queuing systems, streams and microservices • used
Spring Boot or DropWizard • experience with Groovy and other scripting
languages • familiarity with Linux and other open source technologies •
your own Github repository

*PURPOSE OF THE POSITION*

The Sr. Java Developer will work with scrum masters, functional analysts,
and other technical analysts to understand business requirements, design
and build scalable solutions using Java/JEE frameworks to successfully

· Experience in REST service technologies like JAX-RS, OData, Raml,
CRUD.

· Ability to provide solutions based on the business requirements.

· Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams.

· Ability to work with global teams and a flexible work schedule.

· Must have excellent problem solving skills and be customer
centric.

· Excellent communication skills.



*Preferred Skills:*

· Experience with Agile methodology and Jira issue tracking
software.

· Experience with Source Control Management (SCM) like Git.
