LSI got split up a few years back the SANS went to Netapp and the raids

LSI puts out an rpm, the one I've got laying around from an old install
is MegaCli-8.01.06-1.i386.rpm
Current version is either at your vendor's drivers page, or presumably
from LSI's own website.

centers my experience comes down to this.
1) if smart says its going to die trust it its rarely wrong about failures.
2) if smart says its fine, but you are getting IO errors use the badblocks
and or fdisk to verify.
