Your point is kind of mine. I actually liked the second Bourne flick, but
thought the first was better. The second's plotting was more simplistic, and
once the bad guy was dispatched, Bourne's mission of righting his past wrong
was almost anticlimactic. But, it had that hyperkinetic action...
amazing, sad, yet inspirational with how you're responding. Kudos for that

agreed. The second one, though is too fast in the action shots. I actually got
motion sick a few times.

*not* a good idea. we've discussed before getting overexposed actors to play
certain roles. Cruise is still Cruise, and we'll be so focused on Hey, Tom
Cruise is playing Captain Pike that it'll ruin the suspension of disbelief.
What a stupid a$$ move! Just get a good unknown, for goodness

Right. In the original lore of the first series, Captain Pike was the second (I
believe) commander of the Enterprise (Robert April was the first?) He served as
captain for many years before being transferred to another ship. Later, Pike
was severely crippled in an accident where he was exposed

Now this one I can't WAIT to see...(praying that they don't screw it up) If
they treat it like the original show, i.e., making a cartoon adventure come off
like a live action show...that was the charm of it! All they have to do is
switch it around, especially since the tech has (well, almost)

it sounding like a joke would a heck of a nice touch...

Exactly. Really, I wouldn't even want a name director like Abrahams attached.
Just give me a good director. I wouldn't mind seeing what Paul Greengrass could
do with it.
