I've heard the HD/Blue ray can be disturbing to watch because the actors
have not been made up for HD/Blue ray so you see every little flaw,
pimple, dark circle, pore, etc in more detail than we are used

Surprised that SAG would let that fly.

Well, in the case of a movie like ³Transformers², SAG could care less. Most
of the time you¹re looking at stuff that doesn¹t exist. It¹s why most of
us who bought Laser Discs went for digital media in the first place...for
sci-fi pictures where you want to see the background and mecha in greater
I think Blu Ray wins this. Paramount are just being jerks because they can
be, but just like Disney who said they wouldn't support DVD at first --
Paramount WILL come around. I agree that a big player in this is Sony. Once
PS-3's exclusive Halo title comes out, whatever that turns out to be, and
True. But I was also thinking about the Places In The Heart set of movies,
those that often depend on actors looking *good*. As rabid Barbra Streisand
is about how she appears on film, you can bet that she'll veto any of *her*
movies going to BluRay

I don't watch either, but I want Blu-ray to prevail simply because of

is it true. Seriously, some people on the movie boards sometimes sound
repulsed by how the actors sometimes look. I'm sure cameramen, lighting
teams and makeup artists will adapt in time

...and see, that¹s kind of the point, and I was here with LD¹s. Why do I
need Criterion Collection ³Terms of Endearment²? ³Black Mama, White Mama² in

Yeah, most people think Blu-Ray if they think of the technology at all. This is
probably the last great battle for physical media, as the future (hopefully)
holds digital storage. (I've been waiting decades for holographic storage).

ha-ha! Can you imagine a return to that heavy pancake makeup the early silent
era stars wore? The stuff that was a step away from clown makeup and often made
them look scary? Bet that'd hide the pores and blemishes!

Tracey, the answer to your question and the reasoning behind Bay recanting his
no sequel vow are one and the same- *money*.
For the former, whichever format makes the most money will prevail. I won't
begin to venture a guess, because I don't particularly care. I'm not going to
get sucked into

Making everyone on screen much uglier

I should send you my e-mails over this from the last couple of years. I've been
following this battle for a few years now, and my money's on Blu-Ray. For
several reasons, I support Blu-Ray. One, it has higher storage. Blu-Ray has a
maximum possible storage capacity of around 45 - 50+ gb per
