I think producers are scared of alienating new viewers by lopping on 7
seasons of continuitythe same excuse comic publishers make when there is
another Spiderman #1 (Brand New Day anyone?) or a new universe all together
(Ultimate Universe).

Its been about 5 seconds since Buffy ended its last season (ok like 6
years). Though that is a long time in the information age, I just dont see
this taking off without the blessing of the Buffy god. Ill be waiting for

1. Buffy has already HAD a movie. The series was based on the
original 1992 movie with Luke Perry. This project can SO happen
without Joss it's not even funny.
2. The show continued in comic book form, so it's not like this story
dies never to be heard from again. The smart thing to do
