Reading some Punisher Max trades and watched Punisher -WarZone on Blu-Ray
which was total camp. Should the franchise get another reboot ala Dark
Knight,
ot is the series done?
Anyone ever read this? I've been reading it section by section, alternating
between laughing to the point of tears and nodding in agreement with his
assessment of why these books are so creepy with all of the sexism and
racism in them.
Here's one REALLY good post:
Thanks for the heads up. This blog is hilarious. I've never read any of the
series mainly because I thought Meyer was full of crap about her lack of genre
influences.
BTW I've heard that some of the more troubling tenets of the Mormon faith creep
into the novels. Any clues?

Oh yes, and if you read the blog they're all pointed out. The person who
write it at one point flirted with Mormonism and apparently knows quite a
bit about it, right down to quoting from passages from their book to prove
his point.
It IS hilarious, but he makes excellent, excellent points. The
I don't see the need. Punisher: War Zone was just what you called it..camp.
Bloody, gory camp. The Garth Ennis Punisher stories are great but the Punisher
works best still attached attached to the Marvel Universe. Without that he just
come off as just another vigilante, 80s style action hero.
Insane. I wonder if they can hold onto Daniel Craig long enough to get a third
film done.

It's not canceled. Sam Mendes (Bond 23's director) and Daniel Craig
aren't going anywhere. BUT...I actually wouldn't be surprised if
this doesn't take 2 years to sort out. Craig's what, 42? We could
be dealing with another Roger Moore situation by the time this
movie gets going. We
Thanks for posting this link. I hadn't looked at the books or movies
because I thought they were for children. I had no idea about the
ideologies in them.

I'll have to check them out now. But I'll be sure to use a library for this

I saw that movie too. Without some depth added to the character I do not
think that there is any reason to make another movie out of the series.
If they were to do a rewrite I guess that they could change the focus of the
movie towards terrorism or something and make the characters a less

No, and yes, George. No one seems to have a notion as to how to handle the
material. If Marvel had any sense, they'd package the series via animation.

B, there's always a chance. He really doesn't do the big films, so he just
might indie until they sort things out. But I'm not holding my breath for
that, considering MGM's status.

Hmmm an indie type of James Bond would be refreshing. A little more focus on
intrigue and less focus on big gadgets might be what the series needs.

Here's your chance to say, NO! Put the mouse down and back away from the
computer! to the Hollywood writers that are considering making a screenplay
for a book or comic. Or a remake to a movie or comic book based movie. What
title would you put on the list?
Here are some examples that should have
The Hulk (I'm sorry...)
Fantastic 4 (again, sorry, but it HAS to stop)
Superman (hasn't worked since the original w/ Christopher Reeve)
Daredevil

I agree with you on all of those. I'm not that fond of the original superman
either. I have nothing to say about the new one except it was pretty.
I think Hulk 2 had a chance to be cool but they lost it along the way.
