I'm always iffy on remakes and in my mind, no one can possibly replace Pat
Morita. I mean, I grew UP with Daniel-san; that movie is a classic 80s
flick.
But the ire from others and good reviews from here has made me want to go
see the movie. Think I will this coming weekend.

Nothing in Hollywood is a slam dunk. Before hand everybody was picking The
A-team, another remake, as the slam dunk. Further, conventional wisdom is
that a major movie must be helmed by a white person. Lastly, what does Will
Smith's track record have to do with his son? Hollywood dominance

Another thing to factor in is that Will's son's LAST picture was a
remake, and was horrible. This film succeeded, as much as nobody
wants to admit it, BECAUSE of Jaden Smith. And I love me some Jackie
Chan. But Jaden made this character work!
