Hi Rob,
Have you tried running xf86config?
Type in :
xf86config
at the command prompt. Follow the instructions for altering various
settings such as mouse, keyboard, etc and when you get to the part to
set the monitor vsync and hsync, type in your settings. This should cure
your problem.
