[sdre-l]: Structure...that's a link to the past

2000-03-02 Thread luca
Hi guys, did you notice that the structure of the ocean is basically the same of the old songs? They're changing in some ways but in other we can still see their link to the past days. Sound nice. By the way I really like the song..and I'm looking forward to listening to the whole album.

[sdre-l]: Ocean

I just heard ocean yesterday and i thought it was amazing right away. I think sunny day has managed to once again redefine emo. I cant see why people would want another diary when they could have something like ocean. The song is just so good - when they start building up like their gonna

As a possible topic for discussion, what the heck could the lyrics mean? (hehe Ernesto's gonna love me for bringing this up ;) ) One of the things that I'm curious about is what Enigk means when he says 'running through fields.' Makes me think of the American frontier, mass movement, viewing

although i see where you're coming from, i can't help but sense the cynicism here. i don't see how sdre is trying to be more like mainstream rock. to me sdre has been the most "real" band i know, and their sincerity in their music, lyrics, and attitude have been what has kept me completely

I saw this link the other day on alt.music.sonic-youth, http://www.motherjones.com/news_wire/foo.html . This shows how weird nate really is... something is definetly wrong up there, maybe he is tsopf... I have a question about the empty set demos; specifically, how bad did they originally sound?

Can anyone who knows something about christian or eastern religion give any comments on the possible inferences or references he's making? I'm kind of skeptical that anything that profound can be read in to it. For the most part, the lyrics to The Ocean are just recycled old ones, mixed

I'll back that up with this: I saw them live in july. Anyone who went to one of the shows on that tour can tell you that the HIFTBSO songs were anything but wimpy or corporate live. They rocked!!! Does mr zervos think pheurton skeurto is wimpy? How 'bout 5/4? It appears to me that a lot of

Let's just hope that their new album doesn't have "the ocean" on it. I am one of the fans that thinks all three of their albums have been absolutely amazing so far, but was hoping for a more diary/Lp2 like album to present itself. I am afraid that this new album though will not be very good

Using star's, wave's, angel's, any thing as imagry in song lyric's is cool if you can pull it off with some sort of sincerity. I think Jeremy is able to do that. I think he is a great lyricist and a poet. I find his song lyrics very very poetic. Writing song lyric's isnt the easiest thing to do

i've been thinking since reading all the posts about the new song, "the ocean", and i've come to a realisation. everyone i've seen has made comparisons, favorable or otherwise, to other sdre stuff. i know it's the obvious thing to do of course. but maybe we should all try listening to it as

That really makes me think... what were you thinking just saying that such beautiful songs are simply "BAD"!!? That's quite a silly thing if you ask me... also, I sincerely agree with that Dan who said that all the albums were rather similar despite [un]popular belief. I've always always
