Makes it a bit simpler to do the finishing touches on the qemu side (most of the code is already there, basically it'll be switching the default from smbios2 to smbios3). I can live with an end of February target, can use a snapshot for qemu then and update again to -final before qemu 7.0 releases. On the other hand I don't see the benefits in waiting given that there are no pending changes atm (other than the warning fix posted today). take care, Gerd ___ SeaBIOS mailing list -- seabios@seabios.org To unsubscribe send an email to seabios-le...@seabios.org

But, releasing v1.16.0 in early 2022 is fine too. I went ahead and tagged v1.15.0 with the current code. I'll look to merge in the new changes next week. If we add a 2-3 week freeze after committing the patches the release would be too late for qemu 6.2 anyway. > What are your thoughts? So tagging v1.15.0 now and plan for 1.16.0 in january (with smbios + hotplug changes) looks good to me. take care, Gerd ___ SeaBIOS mailing list -- seabios@seabios.org To unsubscribe send an email to seabios-le...@seabios.org

I took another look at those patches and they look fine to me. I'm not sure what you'd prefer to do with the SeaBIOS release though. We have a couple of high-level options: 1. Release v1.15.0 this week without these changes (tag 64f37cc5). 2. Commit the smbios 3 changes (and pcie-pci-bridge changes) and release v1.15.0 in early January. I suppose we could commit the changes and try to make a release in December, but that seems like it would dilute the meaning of a "release". What are your thoughts? Yeah - if we're going to make a change now, I think we should wait a few weeks before tagging a release.
