Man, wish I had known that a few years ago when I was trying to put an 87
tranny in an 85 Laser. Wound up buyin a tranny from an Omni, it was geared too
high for the heavy car, sucked. Got it down the road though. Let us know what
you find out about its availability. Thanks!

I am currently in the process of converting my 85 SC to an auto too, but
I have the problem with having a 6 bolt crankshaft. With an 8 bolt like

I need to change the oil seal in my 87 SC, and while I am at it, I would like
to convert to an automatic (currently 525, which will need a new clutch disc at
least). I was wondering first, is there a site that has a good procedure of
it? I am imagining I need:

Hi All,
I'm trying to fix my Moms drivers door window. It's an 89, 2dr Shadow.
There's a piece of plastic that's riveted to the top/back of the glass. This
piece rides on some sort of track on the back side of the frame around the
glass. The plastic is broken. I'm not sure what it's suppos

i am not saying the matco / miller brand tool isnt worth the cash. i am sure
it is, but to most SDrs who do this as a hobby and NOT for a living its not
worth the cash spent. i currently spin wrenches on aircraft for a living, so i

Actually I think the Daytona held that honor until the Lebaron coupe
came along in 87. The Lancer/Lebaron GTS are great highway cars, with
lots of room and nice styling. The parts interchange is great and you
end up with a car that's a little different from the usual Shadow, Omni,
Charger, Dayton
I remember back in the day, (I love starting like that) that the lancer was
the fastest car Dodge made in the mid 80's. It was the most aerodynamic of
the early turbo cars. I had an 86 auto t1 that did very well on the
highway, but around town was so-so.

About the same give or take a few MPG. My 3100lb 5-speed Daytona gets
about 30 on the highway, 18 in traffic. My old Lancer ES turbo/auto was
a little worse due to the parasitic losses and lack of advantageous
gearing of the 3-speed. Same goes for my Sundance Turbo/auto.

I am getting ready to get a 1987 Shelby Lancer, and was curious what the
gas mileage is like with these. I havent looked at the specs on the
weight, but are they heavier than an 85 Shelby Charger? I know that I
can get 25-29 MPG in it, but wasnt sure about the Lancer. Its hard to

I almost forgot it's red. Also everything only has about 2000 miles on
it's rebuild/replacement. The car has about 108,000 miles on it. The
cams have been reground and the lifters are new from Cindy and the head
has been rebuilt completely.

I think I finally found what I am looking for. I called Dodge this
morning, and they told me that in 1986, the TBI cars still had 6 bolt
crank, but used a 4 bolt converter on the trannies. Hopefully, they can
still get them now, or I can find one somewhere. Just thought I would
