it's much easier to use scp (==rcp with ssh auth and encryption), but
you'll need to setup a tunnel (and have an actual user account on both
machines to do so, or have someone who does have such accounts do this)
however, with ssh all things are possible. here

spread on desktop customization under various OS'es--obviously unix has
the largest variety of "desktop" software (aka window manglers), so we're
doing smallish segments on each of the popular WM's.

i just got a mail from a fellow at cyngus trying to promote their commercial
development tools, offering linux users group members a special price.
since cygnus is such a cool company (read the mail for part of the reason
why---another part of the reason that they don't mention is that they dona
omar is stepping down due to time constraints and we need someone to fill
in as organizer and leader of siglinux events for this semester.
continuation into next year would be great, but we have plenty of time to
find a new someone next semester if need be, and i'll be organizing one

i use queso to try to determine what OS folks are running that are messing
with my network; can anyone recommend network ports that might be listening
on windows? i generally use telnet (23) and/or ssh (22) to probe on
unix boxen, but don't know what "generally listening" ports windows has.
