[Sikuli-driver] [Question #693891]: Can I point Sikuli to look at a video feed from an Axis camera rether than the screen?

2020-11-08 Thread Jason Bassett
New question #693891 on Sikuli:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/693891

Hi

I have used Sikuli for some for software automation tasks but now have an idea
for a game I would like to put together using it.

I would like if possible to get Sikuli to look not at the screen but a feed
from an Axis (or other) IP camera. The idea being that I will set players a
task of using objects to recreate a given scene.

At the most basic level, when Sikuli detects each object has been placed in the
scene it can fire off encouragement to players and when all required objects
are recognised as being present and in the correct location, announce winner.

Would it be possible to add a 'video feed input' option so a stream of jpg
files from a camera feed act as the screen instead of the actual screen? When
running in such a mode, I envision that the Sikuli interface should also not be
hidden as that debug output can be seen easily.

Regards

Jason

String text = pattern.textLine();
System.out.println(text);

I have restricted the region so it only reads the text i wanted, validated

Description changed to:
Is there anyway to copy texts to clipboard in Linux using sikuli? Since
type("c", KeyModifier.CTRL) is the way to copy text. However the
application that I had in Linux won't allow CTRL+C for copying. In
order to copy I will have to press the middle button on a mouse, which I
would assume something like mouseDown(Button.MIDDLE) and
mouseUp(Button.MIDDLE). Is there anyways to get it copy into clipboard
without CTRL+C.

Thanks.

[Sikuli-driver] [Bug 1542474] [NEW] Imported Module is retaining old fuction definition

2016-02-05 Thread Jason
Public bug reported:

An older version of an imported function definition is sometimes used
after a user changes the definition of a function by removing passed in
variables (ex: def appSync(X, Y) changed to appSync() .

Reproducible: Occasionally

Steps to reproduce:
1. Generate a new Sikuli Source folder: Module.sikuli
2. Define a function that requires parameters EX: appSync(X, Y) and save
changes. NOTE: I included the import sikuli in the module
3. Import the module into another Sikuli script: I performed the following
import(appSync)
4. Call function from imported module: Module.appSync("XXX", "YYY")
5. Save and execute.
6. Open Module.sikuli
7. Edit defined function appSync and remove parameters from function: appSync()
8. Edit Sikuli Script that imported the module and edit to remove parameter:
Module.appSync()
9. Save and run script.

Observe that occasionally script will stop with the error:
Module.appSync requires parameters (2 needed, 0 provided). I have closed
and restarted Sikuli and the PC running Sikuli. Sometimes it works as
expected but the next run it doesn't.

[Sikuli-driver] [Question #271681]: Sikuli hangs on the third script when importing four scripts into my main

2015-09-22 Thread Jason
New question #271681 on Sikuli:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/271681

I have a main script I am trying to run from the sikuli IDE 1.01. The main
script is using the import function to import other scripts. I am able to run
each script individually with no issues. However, when I run the main script
with the imports the script hangs forever when it reaches the third
script.(script 1 and 2 run perfectly) It does not fail and there are no errors
when I manually stop the script after many minutes of waiting using
"ALT-SHIFT-C".  PLEASE HELP!  :)

Example:

#script1.sikuli
from sikuli import *
import os
import shutil

for root, dirs, files in os.walk("some\\location\\"):
for f in files:
os.unlink(os.path.join(root, f))
for d in dirs:
shutil.rmtree(os.path.join(root, d))
wait(5)

#script2.sikuli
from sikuli import *
App.open("C:\\some\\location")
wait(5)

#script3.sikuli
from sikuli import *
App.open("C:\\some\\location")
wait(5)

#script4.sikuli
from sikuli import *
App.focus("someapp")
click(someimage)
click(someimage)
wait(5)

#mainScript.sikuli

import script1
reload script1

import script2
reload script2

import script3
reload script3

import script4
reload script4

wait(5)
exit(1)

[Sikuli-driver] [Question #270599]: While testing a GUI if the script does not see an image it wait fail and the script stops.

2015-08-20 Thread Jason
New question #270599 on Sikuli:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/270599

I am testing a GUI application and I want to log failures (images missing), but
want the script to complete without stopping in the middle.

I am using the assert exists(#link_to_image#), 5) When the script detects a
missing image it will stop in the middle and log the error in the message
field. I do not want to SKIP , the missing image in a Not Found situation
and I do not want to ABORT or RETRY either. The purpose of my testing is to
detect issues with the GUI not skip over them.

Is there another way to report the error at the end once the script is finished
without stopping in the middle?

[Sikuli-driver] [Question #224927]: i need to make my script faster and smarter!!

New question #224927 on Sikuli:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/224927

okay i have put alot of hours into learning from other peoples mistakes and
finaly got a pretty nice script going. but i notice that it would take to long
to look for the images, let alone that i had to use a ton of wait() and sleep()
in between and also it would find the wrong images and click on them. Could i
set a region for every image? ill also post my script so u could give me a few
pointers or rewrite the whole thing =)

click( getLastMatch(), 0)
while exists(C10IDG00gIPI.png, 70):
click(N0Thlk5.png, 0)

the goal was to start the game manually, then turn on the script. It would then
look for image1 then click it, then do the 2 if exists then under each one it
would have different situations it must act if image6 or image8 or image9
appears. at the end it loops. also sometimes it skips the if exists and does
if not exists, could i build that into a true or false statement only if the
other 2 if exists are not found so it doesnt skip my 'if exists? any and all
help is greatly appreciated!!

[Sikuli-driver] [Bug 1028612] Re: Sikuli for Java 7 throws exception when launched in Java 7 on OS X

2012-07-25 Thread Jason Lunn
As I said in the original post, using Java 6 executes without issue:

java version 1.6.0_33
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_33-b03-424-11M3720)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.8-b03-424, mixed mode)
[host:~] jasonlunn% java -jar
/Applications/Sikuli-IDE.app/Contents/Resources/Java/sikuli-script.jar -i
[info] Sikuli vision engine loaded.
[info] Mac OS X utilities loaded.
[info] VDictProxy loaded.

It is only when run with Java 7 that the issue manifests; my comment about
trying the jar on DB was just to indicate that the solution for Windows + Java
7 doesn't appear to work for OS X:
[host:~] jasonlunn%

[Sikuli-driver] [Bug 1000643] [NEW] X 1.0rc3: WIN meta key not working with keyDown()

2012-05-17 Thread Jason King
Public bug reported:

I know that this issue has been reported in bugs #513312 and #836453,
but my use case is a bit different as the key combination that I want to
emulate cannot be achieved through type().

I am using Sikuli X 1.0rc3, on Windows 7 64bit. One of the Windows key
combinations that we are trying to emulate are the:
  WIN key + Shift key + Left arrow key / Right arrow key combinations
This achieves the effect of flicking a window from one monitor to the next in
multi-monitor configurations.

The problem with this combination is that it cannot be achieved with
type(), hence we hoped to use keyDown() and keyUp().

Are there any plans, or any suggestions of work arounds, to achieve this
sort of key combination?

Regards,
Jason

work when the computer is locked though. Is there a way to unlock the

[Sikuli-driver] [Question #188694]: Adding Sikuli script in Task Scheduler

2012-02-23 Thread Jason Yoo
New question #188694 on Sikuli:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/188694

I did see few problems related to this topic, but none of them solved my
problem...

I'm trying to add a batch file that launches Sikuli in the task scheduler and
run it. When I run the batch file by double clicking it myself, it works
perfectly fine, but when it's added to the scheduler, nothing happens. From the
Task Scheduler, it says the task is running, but nothing is happening. Is it
because my sikuli script contains actions like click, type and etc?

This is what my batch file has:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Sikuli X\Sikuli-IDE.bat -r %~dp0Test.sikuli

https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/166785 - is this the same issue?

[Sikuli-driver] [Question #186738]: Run executable file from network location?

2012-02-03 Thread Jason Maher
New question #186738 on Sikuli:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/186738

I am attempting to create a script that will install Adobe Acrobat Pro X from a
network location.

This is as far as I have gotten:

App.open(cmd.exe)
wait(0.5)#
type(start
\\ns5aa40v.okcu.edu\lawschool\software\adobeproducts\adobex\AcrobatPro_10_Web_WWEFD.exe
 + Key.ENTER)

Sikuli will not type more than 1 back slash in the begining and then it stops
typing after software

Any suggestions?

[Sikuli-driver] [Question #185973]: Not working in Ubuntu

2012-01-26 Thread Jason Hamilton
New question #185973 on Sikuli:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/185973

I installed Sikuli via apt-get on my Ubuntu 11.10 system but I am having
problems running any scripts. I can take screenshots but when I try to run a
script I get the folowing error.

--
[error] Stopped [error] Error message: Traceback (innermost last): (no code
object) at line 0 SyntaxError: ('future feature with_statement is not defined',
(' ', 1, 6, ''))
-

Based on some posts I have read, I believe that the error I am getting is due
to the version of Jython on my system. I downloaded and installed Jython 2.5.2
but when I type Jython at the terminal I get Jython 2.2.1 on java1.6.0_23.

If the Jython version is causing the problem, can someone help me get the
system to use the new version? Otherwise, any point in the right direction is
appreciated.

Thanks,

Jason

above, but the focus operation still appears to put Firefox out of focus
(watch the top portion of the window during the test case...it
unhighlights when focus is called on the Firefox app). Could this be a
problem in Firefox specifically (in that focus is implemented
incorrectly)? Or is this a general Windows problem?

Hi,

Your software looks outstanding. I am trying to use it to automate queries of
a GUI electronic medical record. However I am getting the following error.

[error] Error message: UnicodeDecodeError: 'unicodeescape' codec can't decode
bytes in position 25-27: truncated \xXX

One unique aspect of my work environment is a three-monitor setup for viewing
radiology studies. I am not sure if this is related to the error because the
'Hello World' script works on my single monitor laptop at home.

Thanks for the great product.

[Sikuli-driver] [Question #163103]: Input from data stream to GUI Textbox

2011-06-28 Thread Jason J
New question #163103 on Sikuli:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/163103

Hello!

I would like to automate the process of taking data from a variable modeler
(data such as objectSpeed:100) and feed it into my simulation program that will
modify the objectSpeed to 100. I do not have any APIs for the simulation
program but have control over the variable modeler data.

So far I have a sikuli script that opens the simulator and selects the correct
window that has objectSpeed. I do not have much experience with python or
sikuli. What would be a simple solution; Should I create a file with the latest
information for the objectSpeed then read it and place that into the sikuli
script?

Thank you,
Jason

Jason Antic posted a new comment:
For those curious, there's another way to get a head on your machine
if you happen to run on vms like I do at work (we have 4 of them for
automation)- move the vm image to a machine with a monitor on it. I'm
not sure if this will work with all virtualization software, but I can
tell you that I've tested it with Vmware Workstation 7 and it works
great. You can minimize the vms, lock your host machine (just keep the
vms from going to screen saver, etc)- Sikuli still works under these
conditions. I've tested this on Linux and Windows vms.

I've found this to be the most cost effective, robust and simple
solution for my purposes, which is to run automation on these vms for
hours overnight.

[Sikuli-driver] [Question #162676]: Is there an RPC server for Sikuli with full functionality available (or in development)?

2011-06-24 Thread Jason Antic
New question #162676 on Sikuli:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/162676

I've been wanting to integrate Sikuli with my C# scripts at work, and the
obvious way to do this, absent a Sikuli DLL (which I'm pretty sure doesn't
exist) is to use an RPC based server to do the job- much like Selenium-RC. I'm
very excited about the prospect of getting Sikuli to be usable in this manner
with Selenium because it'll be able to do the things that Selenium just can't
outside its javascript realm. SO.is there an implementation? If not, I'm
wondering if you'd be interested in a contribution (I've already been toying
around with a prototype on my home computer). Not that it's terribly difficult
to do, but I'm betting a lot of people would appreciate having something like
that available...

os.system() or os.popen() have problem with Sikuli if you run it using:

[Sikuli-driver] [Question #144656]: Sikuli deleting images automatically?

2011-02-08 Thread Jason
New question #144656 on Sikuli:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/144656

Is it normal for Sikuli to delete some images automatically?
I sometimes replace the images in the .sikuli folder with some other
images(which is not captured by Sikuli)... I'm not sure if this is causing it.
Next time I open the folder, half of the images I captured disappear. This
happens inconsistently that I don't know what triggers Sikuli to delete those
images. In which cases do Sikuli delete images without any asking?
Please help!!!

[Sikuli-driver] [Question #143874]: keyDown(Key.SHIFT) not working on Win?

2011-02-02 Thread Jason
New question #143874 on Sikuli:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/143874

I have this same script for Mac and Windows. On Mac, it works as expected, but
it looks like the shift key isn't pressed on Windows.

Have notepad open with text asdf and run the code below:
keyDown(Key.SHIFT)
type(Key.LEFT)
type(Key.LEFT)
type(Key.LEFT)
keyUp(Key.SHIFT)

It should highlight sdf, but on Windows, it only moves the cursor between a
and s as if it only moved left 3 times without shift key down.

Is this a bug? Any work around?
