Hello, I had to get the stamp for a degree certificate, and I'm afraid it involved a lot of running around. My degree was issued by VTU, which is based in Belgaum. So had to get a letter from the uni stating that the certificate was authentic, get it stamped by the District Commissioner's office

It is much easier if you have a birth certificate – because that is now downloadable from the corporation’s website more often than not, and you can get it authenticated at any corporation office .. especially if that is in the same city as the MEA [so, state capital] Exact same procedure. Prior
