So far as I can tell ACS IS Meso-silver. I've never seen pure metallic silver that was brown at any PPM. If a lot of light is being absorbed, it would be greyish and even silver dust suspended in water or not, is white to off white. Silver Oxides, yes. [and might be effective..dunno]
