Such messages are themselves a sort of 'virus', propagated willingly by
their victims. The originator still gets his jollies, but doesn't have
to know any programming. frown

The original email titled It Takes Guts to Say 'Jesus' is a poor
rewrite of several old hoaxes. Now that hoax has been
rewritten as an aftermath of the 'Melissa' virus outbreak.
?I think Nick is being over cautions. There are pictures and music files that
will not contain viruses
and are perfectly safe to open. Two of the most common are those with an
extension of .jpg for
picture files and .mid for music files. There are others.
