All meters use conductivity [uS] NO meter can actually measure PPM
A PPM/TDS meter takes that number and runs it through a formula to
calculate PPM in sodium salt water.
Silver water is not salt water and the formula is even different for
different sorts of salt water.

They are both very good conductivity meters. I have several of each and

I have a multimeter connected to the electrodes, so I
can see things like the voltage dropping, and check
the amps, which with the potentiometer I have hooked
up in series is around 4.7mA. I graphed the voltage
drop for one batch I cooked for 4 hours, and it was a
pretty consistent line.

Dear list members I keep seeing some of you talk about different 'meters' to
measure cs. What are these meters and where can they be
To Jeff and all,
The output of the Bob Beck approved pulsers/
CS makers is 27 VDC (pure DC, no pulsing) if
you use the correct jack (CS).
To limit the current to a maximum of 2 to 3 mA
(depends on how strong you make the CS)
when using 27 or 30 VDC just wire a 8200 ohm
resistor (any wattage will

While I agree with your sentiment, I must query you on some of your
statements.

Interesting, but you did not explain why dc does not make Cs, nor why your
unit makes better Cs than any other method.
