Hello Brooks,
I didn't really aim to kill those ants only to get them out of my house.
The talcum powder is still on the floor and also outside on the patio around
the door and in the garage around the door and I have no ants in the house.
I left the dog food bag in the original place where it was
Dear Barbara,
It is welcome news that you have enjoyed success through the use of
talcum powder as a control methodology for ants. We were not so fortunate in
our investigations. Maybe Marshall's observation regarding the possible

Hi Trem,
Thank you and the other Experts who supply so much good, factual information
to "us seekers" on this Site! I appreciate and totally agree with your
outlook on these CS Patents. They are pioneering and getting "the CS Word"
out in the public eye and creating much good publicity.

It may also be that they don't like talcum, it sticks to them if I happen to
hit one with it. Whatever the reason I'm a happy camper :)

It has been declared that the amount of silver
considered to be toxic was 3.8 grams/day. This was

He appeared to credit the EPA with that figure. Other
folks have been searching, and discover the EPA saying
it is 5 micrograms/kg/day. For me, that w

Hmm, that's odd. I thought all baby powders have had the talcum

corn starch would send them on a feeding frenzy. Maybe the medicated

Hi Everyone,
When we had the discussion how to discourage the ants out of our lives I asked
questions and got answers :) Someone, don't remember who (I apologize) said to
use talcum powder. I bought a container of Gold Bond medicated Body Powder and
used it around the baseboards and doors.
Thank you Trem for this piece - very interesting, and important to all of
us !!!
Thanks again

Silver citrate was mentioned in the 1916 Materia Medica
For Nurses, A.S. Blumgarten MD, McMillan as an
injectable antiseptic. Its brand name was Itrol, and its use
was known to have hazards even in 1916.
