I'm trying to enable ntpd on RH73, what port do I need to allow in the
ipchains for ntpd ?

If i recall RFC822 correctly there is a physical line limit of about
78 characters. However it is possible to have a longer virtual line,

123 or ntp - you can use either, the name to port number mapping is in
/etc/services:

but machine's time has not synced as yet, I pressume either my own ipchains
blocks it, or, the external firewall, if it was my ipchains, where would that
show ?
try running ntpdate before starting ntpd.
