If you get the USB modem you can stick it in a Draytek router (at
least for most of their models).
From personal experience:

Yes they give 4000 minutes a month on top of the data plan, starting
with the $5/20 Mb plan and up.
When you call a skype contact the phone actually does a regular mobile
call to their exchange and skype picks up from there. Quality is very
good. I regularly call and receive skype calls overseas,

Should I assume that any of them work on either Mac or Linux, or
just a small data point.
Was at a client site who was using bigpond wireless (HSPDA/3G) and after
setting up the external antenna I made a few quite acceptable VoIP calls
over the link. (possibly slightly higher latency than ADSL but nothing
drastic, no noticeable jitter/packet loss)

For that matter can I get these data plans on the same sim as my
standard mobile? IE have the standard voice calling stuff but in the
same device have the ability to suck a few GB worth of data at a sane
I had to replace some IBursts - I'm likely to replace 2 of them with a
single 1M/1M commercial wireless service from Clever @ $399 per month. A
bit pricey, but we need a decent link there. The site currently uses 2 x
Ibursts which cost a similar amount anyway.
I'm still looking for a better

Haven't got around to test this but my Nokia E71 comes with builtin
VoIP support (SIP) and someone else here uses another Nokia with SIP

Fring. It works, but it's pretty damn flaky. It does, however, allow
you to define arbitrary SIP endpoints to register with,
With the Demise of the I-Burst Network, I now have to look for an alternative.

Don't know about their 3G service, but I have been with iPrimus now for
many years (phone/mobiles/broadband) and have always found then easy to
deal with. Even their help desk is sometimes helpful.

flaky and needs replacement, now it requires a fair bit of jiggling to
get working. The replacement center is in Prestons and I haven't made

So it all depends on how mobile you need.
