ok I moved my .gnome* stuff out the way in my home dir and logged in and started again (as far as gnome is concerned) and still got the extra large font but now I am able to change it by doing this: Okay, run 'gnomecc' and go into the Desktop Theme Selector capplet. There's a frame in there
