That’s not necessarily a virus. PUA stands for potentially unwanted
applications. NicePlayer was a good video player until they started bundling
adware utilities with it to make more money. The chances of it installing a key
logger to get your password is minimal.

Yes I had thought of that but we have several other iPads, laptops etc. on
the same network ;) The only one that can't 'get through' is the Macbook.

My MacBook Pro (13” mid 2013) is unhappy with wifi. The problem exists on all
networks, even my iphone’s hotspot.
The Mac can see all available networks and join the one it’s asked to but once
it’s joined nothing gets through either up or down. I checked to see if it
for these kinds of things, I'd reset PRAM and SMC (in that order) and
see if it helps.
